With the cooler weather starting to take effect, now more than ever we need to do everything we can to stay safe from COVID-19. Protect yourself and others by making these 5 simple precautions your new habits:
Open-air spaces are safer
Outdoor gatherings are safer than indoor ones, particularly if indoor spaces are small and without fresh air coming in. Should you find yourself having to enter enclosed buildings, you should try to limit your exposure by spending the least amount of time possible in these locations.
Wear a face mask
Face masks can greatly reduce the spread of COVID-19 by keeping the droplets people breathe out. Face masks are especially important in highly populated and poorly ventilated areas. It’s important to only wear face masks that have been approved for COVID-19.
Practice social distancing
It is important to recognize that COVID-19 can spread quickly in highly populated areas. Keep a safe distance away from others wherever you go. Try to avoid touching railings and door handles as these are high transmission areas.
Wash your hands
Simply washing your hands can reduce the spread of viruses. Thoroughly wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with an alcohol-based hand sanitiser or wash them with soap and water. We recommend always carrying a small bottle of hand sanitiser with you whenever you are out in public.
Regularly clean your workstation
You spend a lot of time at work so it is important to keep your workplace safe. Regularly clean work surfaces and objects in continual use, such as phones, computer keyboards and door handles. If you are unsure of how to effectively clean your workplace, you can find out more here.
